First-round leader Shane Lowry retained a share of the lead entering the weekend at the Arnold Palmer Invitational after a second-round 71 on Friday but he is far from lonely at the top of the leaderboard. Six players are tied at seven-under-par heading into moving day, with Wyndham Clark making a big jump up the leaderboard after carding a six-under-par 66 for the low round of the day on Friday. Also claiming a share of the lead are Hideki Matsuyama, Russell Henley, Brian Harman and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who followed up a first-round 70 with a 67 on Friday.

The tournament is one of the PGA Tour's signature events, carrying a $20 million purse that pays out $4 million to the winner rather than the traditional $3.6 million (18% is the standard). The champion also earns 700 points in the FedExCup standings.
Defending champion Kurt Kitayama won't repeat after he was one of only 11 players in the field of 69 to miss the cut.
